EILEAN DONAN CALENDARS 2021
Due to public demand, this year I will be offering not one, but two different calendars. One colour version and one black and white,
each with entirely different images. Both are A4 sized, opening up to display at A3.
Unfortunately the UK Post Office has increased postage and shipping costs, (much like postal services around the world) from last year which is completely out of my control.
PLEASE, PLEASE NOTE, THAT AS IN PREVIOUS YEARS, THESE ARE CURRENTLY ONLY AVAILABLE FOR ADVANCE ORDERING. MY ORDER BOOK FOR CALENDARS WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL THE 15th OF OCTOBER, AT WHICH POINT I
WILL THEN COLLATE THE TOTAL NUMBER OF COPIES REQUIRED TO CONFIRM WITH MY PRINTERS. DISPATCH TO YOURSELVES WILL THEN START TO TAKE PLACE FROM THE 1st OF NOVEMBER.
My ever-popular colour calendar for 2021.

Without any doubt, this is my favourite winter shot of the castle. There was no-one around when I took this shot,
and had the entire place to myself. At the time, all I could think of was Narnia!

Personally speaking, this is one of the most pleasing images I've captured, and it makes a lovely print. Most people visit the castle during daylight, but the magic really happens at night
time.

This has been the most popular and best-selling image that I've taken of the castle to date. Although it is now a
few years old, it appears to have struck a chord with many many people.

This has become my most favourite Black & White shot of the castle and makes a stunning print. I'm in the process of creating a large canvas of this shot I'm so pleased with it.

The colour tones of this shot produce an autumnal feel when in actual fact this image was actually captured in early April. At this time of year, the sun is tracking further to the northwest as
it sets, allowing a beautiful opportunity to shoot directly up Loch Alsh into the sunpath.

The "blue hour" is a favourite time for photographers, and on this particular evening she revealed her true
majesty.

This was shot early one morning on one of the most perfect winter days I've ever witnessed at Eilean Donan. I spent about 7 hours in the snow shooting from all of my favourite angles.

Watching from afar allows a photographer to share a private moment without intrusion, and I love to see people's different reactions as they arrive at Eilean Donan for the very first time.

Blue skies are all very nice, but the clouds and changing light often
make for more atmospheric photographs.

Patience is an important virtue when you're a photographer, and sometimes you have to wait longer than you might think to capture a specific shot. I captured this image one beautiful evening at
dusk whilst waiting for the night to arrive.

To capture this shot, I ended up with bruised shins and a few cuts
and scrapes. I learned the hard way, that if one is going to stumble about in the woods at night, it is always best to remember your torch!

The rising sea mists created a wonderfully atmospheric photographic
opportunity this morning.

Climbing through deep snow on the hill behind the castle offered me some wonderful moments. Exhausting but ultimately very rewarding too!

I really like the feel of this in print format. It is so incredibly peaceful, and yet a really striking black and
white.

The striking purple flowers against the green backdrop of the evening castle really worked for me. Hope it does for you
too!

Strong harsh sun on a summer's day created these lovely patterned shadows, catching my attention.

I captured this image from the hillside behind the castle and
watching the sunset develop over a period of time was truly breath-taking. The sunpath down to the castle was simply beautiful.

A magical time of day, and a moment to savour the peace, quiet and tranquility of the place. It still stirs me even after all these years.

Heavy snow falls on the west coast and around the castle are quite rare due to the influence of the Gulf stream. I had to wait for 5 years in between these
significant falls to capture this image from my garden.

Even after all the thousands of shots I've taken of her, sometimes,
just sometimes she offers me a fresh glimpse and a new angle to shoot her from.

From time to time I play around with black & white images, but they only ever make this gallery if I'm REALLY happy with them, and as I'm my own worst critic, you'll only find a handful for
sale. This particular shot now hangs in my own home to give you an idea how pleased I was with it.

The castle has so many different moods that it's a constant challenge
to try and capture them all. Bright, sunny conditions always creates a lightness to images, but I do like the more moody conditions too.

The wonderful quality of light that occurs on the west coast is well documented, and if you're in the right place at just the right time, captured images can highlight the bold contrasts that
happen here.

Watching the last rays of the sun meandering through the glens and
valleys of the Cuillin mountains on Skye was a moment in time I'll never forget. It's times like this you wish you were not stood on a hillside alone, but could share that moment with the world.
Sometimes a photograph doesn't do the scene justice.......

Unlike many other areas of the UK, the north west highlands still enjoys four very different and decidedly separate seasons. Spring and autumn are my two favourites simply because of the
explosion of colour!
(UK p&p £10.00 and International £15.00)

Spring and autumn sunsets offer the best position of the sun for striking shots. If I hadn't seen this with my
own eyes, I would barely have believed the intensity of colour.

Sometimes, timing is everything in life! I learned many years ago, always to have my camera close at hand, as you
just never know what might happen before you.

Thanks to the influence of the Gulf Stream, the west coast of Scotland is considerably warmer than other locations on the same latitudes. The downside to that of course is that decent coverings
of snow down to sea level are not as common as photographers might like. Any opportunity to capture the castle in the white is always welcome!

Very few people venture to this particular viewing point, due mainly
to the highland cows that occupy the field! Fortunately, I know them well, and outside of calving season, they're normally docile and friendly!

I've waited nearly 30 years for the right conditions to capture this shot, and
to the best of my knowledge and research, it is the only image ever captured with both the castle and the aurora. A unique shot if ever there was one!

I love this shot, as so many different elements (completely out of my

Illuminated only by a bright full moon and set against a curtain of stars, this shot was a long time in the making. Waiting for the alignment of a full moon, clear sky, a relatively high tide and
still calm water required a great deal of patience!
