Recently I ordered the eight pack of Christmas cards and one of them came with what appears to be a red breasted robin on the front instead of Eilean Donan Castle which Mrs. MacRae brought me to for a visit the night after I stayed with their family in Inverness at the estate in 1973 and when the Kennedy family were the caretakers.

If you would be so kind as to let us know why we received the eighth card of a red breasted robin that would be great.

    Best,
    Jane Anne MacRae

    Hello,

I was wondering if there would be a way to get permission to use one or two of your photos on a book cover and on the book's website? I will be self publishing a novel on Amazon; part of the novel takes place at the castle and in that area, and I was hoping to be able to give readers a place to actually visualize. If you could please contact me at kebrown2007@yahoo.com, I would appreciate it. Thank you!

    David,
My husband and I visited (for the 5th time) this summer and bought one of your prints from the gift store (#33 in the Items for sale page). We would like to hang a larger copy of this over our mantle and need permission from you to have it enlarged. Would you grant this? This is for personal use only and it will be copied only once. We paid about 25 Lbs for the print. We really want to hang you over our mantle! Thanks, Nara . naraduncan@yahoo.com

Is it possible you have hi res enough photos that a couple could be printed up poster sized and shipped to the US? I'd love to have one in my office. Perhaps you could message me? I can't find a message you link.

I received my order of a wonderful print very timely all the way across the pond to Canada. It is beautiful and I am very happy with it. Just a note not a criticism, a small amount of the glue used to paste it to the matting seeped through and caused a small stain on the white edge of the matting.Perhaps less glue in the future. I love it and can't wait to frame it and put it up.

    Hello David,
Knowing how much I love Eilean Donan, my husband gave me a cross-stitch pattern of it for Christmas. I am thrilled with the idea and his labor of love, but the photo used is dull and doesn't begin to do the castle justice. I live in the US but have visited there twice, follow you on Facebook, so know how truly photogenic that castle is! The woman who developed the pattern has a shop in Portree and told my husband that copyright laws limit her choices of photos to work from. How might I get around that? There are many of yours that are magnificent and I would love to work up one. Please let me know your thoughts. My email address is: mgustin13@earthlink.net
    Thank you!
    Melanie

Thank you for the fantastic photos of my favorite castle in all of Scotland! I first visited Eilean Donan back in the 1980's. If I were to write a historical romance novel - Eilean Donan with it's brooding rapture - would be the ideal castle for my characters. Love the daily dose of castle that you share on FB. Kudos!

I fell in love with Eilean Donan the first time I visited Scotland 21 years ago. Unfortunately I've never been near it when the weather was other than gray and dreary - hence my rather lame attempts to photograph it myself. So thank you for all these amazingly lovely photographs. My friends and I are all REALLY impressed.

    Good luck to you.

Would like to thank you for sharing your amazing work with us on FB which lead me to your website. Eilean Donan has a place deep in my heart as does Scotland. You seem to capture the very essence of both in so many different moods and I feel privileged to gaze upon them.
Hope to return to Scotland next year, it's been too long but your photos help me to breath.
    Please keep inspiring and posting.
    All good things

We doubt if you gave permission to this new group to share your work, David. They have been trying to post uncredited images on Scotland from the Roadside, and have been banned from our site.

How fortunate you are to live and work in such a remarkable area. The Highlands felt like home the second I arrived, and I hope to return some day. Maybe I can come be a tour guide. :) Your images reflect your love of Scotland, and are all very nicely done. Keep up the good work.

My Grandfather helped to restore this Castle after WW1 along with local historian, Duncan McCrae...i believe it was a combined local effort. As a young girl growing up in Zimbabwe [known then as Rhodesia] I looked at photos of the Castle and LONGED to one day see it. Your photos bring this beautiful Castle to life. I have seen it 3 times now and will never be able to capture what you have done here. We took my 82 year old Dad and Mom to see it this year. We have also laid a plaque for my Grandparents at the old Shiel Bridge Cemetery. Their graves have been desecrated in Zimbabwe but they are now 'back home' in the land they loved.

I am so pleased and proud of you for starting this website. There isn't one picture that you have taken that I don't like. One of your prints will hang on my wall with pride one of these days and I hope it will be soon. I would give anything to be able to come back to Dornie again and see one of our favorite icons. She comes to life because of your talent with a camera. You capture all of her moods and I never tire of them. ♥
